Pinot Gris 2020
Pinot Gris (France) or Pinot Grigio (Italy) is named from the French words for pine (pinot) which alludes to the pinecone shape of its tightly clustered grapes, and gray (gris) which refers to dusty gray sheen of the varietal. A genetic twin to the immensely popular Pinot Noir grape, only a tiny mutation results in variant skin colors, and so, wines. Cultivated in colder climates Pinot Gris produces notes of citrus, lime, lemon and apple. Cultivated in warmer climates it elicits notes of nectarine, peach, honeysuckle and pineapple. It’s zesty, refreshing acidity pairs well with fresh vegetables, white meats, seafood and lighter meals. Grapes grown in Enoch's winemaker home state of Washington, shipped to Texas in a refrigerated vehicle for fermentation.
